Credit Risk Management Officer

The candidate will be a member of the Credit Risk Management team within the Financial Risk Management Department and be responsible for credit risk management associated with a portfolio of insurance companies. Anticipated to be domiciled in New York City, the role will required the ability to effectively communicate with other Financial Risk Management team members and business units globally.

The position will work other members of the Financial Institutions Group to actively identify, review, monitor and manage credit risk associated with traditional and structured transactions related to portfolio of insurance companies. These companies will be largely, though not exclusively in the Property and Casualty and Life and Health segment of the insurance sector.

The candidate will be expected to be able to, on an ongoing and ad hoc basis, identify key portfolio risks and concentrations and proactively highlight names associated with developing credit situations and notable exposure. Additionally, the candidate will need to be able to understand risk calculations associated with insurance products as they are developed and effectively and consistently communicate the methodology to the business units.

Responsibilities will include the helping to advance certain strategic initiatives, including but not limited to the ongoing extension of the CRM footprint into the traditional business lines. This includes establishing effective relationships with key business unit personnel as well as other risk management groups.

The ideal candidate will have:
•Solid academic track record
•Minimum 7+ years' financial analysis and/or risk management experience, preferably in the credit department of a primary commercial or investment bank or insurance company;
•Familiarity with products and regulations across the broader insurance sector;
•Alongside strong financial analysis skills, the clear ability to quickly develop a detailed understanding of a diverse credit product range (including derivative instruments, fixed income securities, structured finance and reinsurance) and the credit risks inherent therein;
•Flexible approach to work assignments; and
•Ability to manage diverse projects and tasks simultaneously and the confidence and initiative to take decisions often with only limited information and guidance and within tight deadlines.
