The Senior Manager Tax will be responsible for overseeing the entire department as well as having a dotted overview of the internal Accounting function. Reporting directly into the Senior Controller, this is a business critical position that will have a heavy focus on Tax planning and strategy. As the Senior Manager Tax, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Ensure all tax compliance is met across the entire North America's operations.
- Support external tax advisors in preparation of federal and state tax returns, ensuring payments are made in a timely manner
- Directly supervise 3 members of the team, with two remote members
- Prepare local tax filings and ensure tax returns and fillings are accurate and complete
- Track revenue by state for market based purposes
- Evaluate the impact of tax reform and manage specific reporting needed
- Research federal, state and foreign tax laws and document tax positions and analyze the effects on the firm
- Directly supervise 3 members of the team, with two remote members
- Review the work done by transactional finance
- Develop and implement new procedures to enhance the efficiency of the department
- Assist with implementing a new financial system, Microsoft Dynamics
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or Masters if a plus
- 5-8 years of experience within a corporate tax function
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
- High attention to detail and organizational skills a must
- Ability to multitask and to prioritize workload under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented – with strong attention to accuracy and problem solving
- Strong PC and Microsoft application skills
- Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills
